Shahbaz reviews progress of second phase of PKLI

LAHORE, May 21 (TNS): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday visited Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI) where he chaired a high-level meeting in the committee room of the institute to review the progress of second phase of PKLI.

While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that PKLI was a role model project of serving the ailing humanity, as this project was providing free of cost treatment facilities to deserving kidney and liver patients.

He maintained that efforts had been made to start transplantation of kidney as soon as possible and directions had also been issued to authorities concerned in this regard. He said that implementation of decisions made by the steering committee should be ensured within the stipulated timeframe.

He said that they had to work hard for serving the ailing humanity. Provincial Minister for Health Kh. Salman Rafique, Chief Secretary, Chairman Board of Governors Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute Dr. Saeed Akhtar, Chairman P&D, Additional Chief Secretary and others were present.
