Islamabad May 25, (TNS): A Pakistani teenage girl, Farah,returned to Italy, on Friday after allegedly going through a forced abortion at the hands of her family.
Reportedly, Farah conceived a few months ago, the 19-year-old has been studying in the institute of Verona.
Farah was taken back to Pakistan in February, her family took her in the wake of the fact that she was pregnant and decided to terminate the pregnancy against her will, another murder for honor.
A few weeks ago a similar incident, occurred when a Pakistani girl Sana Cheema, who was an Italian citizen,was killed for honor, as she wanted to marry a Pakistani-Italian against the will of her family.
According to the Italian media, Farah claimed, “My family sedated me, they tied me to a bed and forced me to have an abortion”
After abortion Farah was assisted by the Islamabad police who rescued her, and she was looked after at the residence of Italian ambassador.
They girl arrived on Malpensa Airport in Milan on Friday and will now go to the police in Verona to resolve the matter.
Farah’s family shifted to Italian city, Verona back in 2008 and during that period she met her fiancé and got pregnant before marriage.
Her friends reported to the police, that Farah had been deceived and taken to Pakistan in a false impression that her brother was getting married and was forced to abort her child.
Angelino Alfano, the foreign minister of Italy later thanked the government of Pakistan for their cooperation in tracing the girl and informed that girl has returned safely to Italy.
