Toronto, Jun 1 (TNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that we also impose our own duty on US goods in retaliation to steel and aluminum tariffs.
“American tariffs on Canadian aluminum & steel are unacceptable. As we have said, we will always stand up for our workers, and today we’re announcing retaliatory measures to this attack on our industry”, Trudeau twitted.
Earlier Donald Trump has announced that he will impose steep tariffs on steel and aluminum on three of US’ biggest trading partners – Canada, Mexico and the European Union (EU).
The said trade-move would raise prices of a range of everyday products.
France has refused to enter into trade talks with the Group of Seven meeting in Canada.
