Pakistan Railways to operate special trains on Eid-ul Fitr

Islamabad, June 3 (TNS): Pakistan Railways will operate special trains to facilitate passengers on the occasion of Eid-ul Fitr, says a press release issued by PR.

Special Eid trains will run between Karachi and Peshawar and Quetta and Rawalpindi.

Railways would also run a special Eid train ‘Thal Express’ from Rawalpindi to Multan via Kundian, Mianwali.

According to the Railways statement, armed police personnel have been deployed at railway stations to keep security situation in check.

Pakistan Railways has also announced a 30% discount on fares to facilitate passengers on first and second day of Eid-ul-Fitr. Meanwhile,one hundred forty five new and upgraded locomotives have been inducted in Pakistan Railways during last four years.

A data issued in this regard today showed that Pakistan Railways currently owns 468 locomotives and 1820 coaches.
