The court was hearing a petition filed by Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi, who alleged that Rehman Malik held British nationality.

After ruling of the top court, Malik took to Twitter to express his gratitude.

“I’m grateful to Almighty Allah that today finally Supreme Court dismissed case against me of alleged dual nationality whereas I was already exonerated by trial court &4 members of Election Commission. My position has been vindicated after long testing trials”, Malik said.

“No pending case. Not single corruption case. Mostly contempt cases -facing courts for the last 24 years. Today finally exonerated from the last case too”, PPP Senator added.
