LOWER DIR, June 7 (TNS): In a tragic incident of terrorism, an Inspector and his driver were martyred on Thursday as a blast targeted cops’ vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials said here on Thursday.
According to local police, an Inspector and a constable (driver) were martyred in the explosion targeting their vehicle in Maidan area of Lower Dir.
Two other policemen were wounded in the blast.
The bodies and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Security officials rushed to the scene of the blast and investigations are under way.
Caretaker prime minister Justice (retd) Nasirul Mulk condemned the incident and extended condolences to the families of the martyred policemen.
