5 July last date for receipt of postal ballot papers applications: ECP

Islamabad, June 7 (TNS): The Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday fixed fifth of the next month as last date for receipt of applications for postal ballot papers for upcoming general elections, says a press release issued by the prime electoral body.

This facility has been extended to government servants, their spouses and children, who are registered voters and residing with them at a place other than the place in which their constituency is situated.

Persons with physical disability and those who are detained in prisons or held in custody are also entitled to vote by postal ballot.

The last date for polling and police personnel posted at a polling station other than the one at which they are entitled to cast their vote has been fixed as 10th of the next month.

Applications for postal ballot shall be made on the prescribed Form available on ECP website www.ecp.gov.pk or may be obtained from the Returning Officer concerned of the constituency. The voters to whom postal ballots are issued will not be entitled to vote in person at the polling stations.
