Energy Minister stresses for uninterrupted electricity supply in country

Islamabad, June 12 (TNS): Minister for Energy Syed Ali Zafar says the issue of payments by Power Sector against Fuel and LNG supplies need to be resolved to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in the country.

He expressed this during his visit to the Petroleum Divison in Islamabad today.

A comprehensive briefing was given to him about overall functioning, performance and operations as well as challenges and issues faced by Petroleum Sector.

The Minister expressed that issues of demand of LNG and Furnace Oil especially for Power Sector need to be coordinated.

He, however, expressed his satisfaction over smooth functioning of the petroleum sector and advised the authorities concerned to keep him abreast on all important matters.

The Minister also expressed his desire to formulate well considered recommendations on all important Policy and Administrative matters pertaining to Energy Sector for consideration of the next elected government.
