ISLAMABAD June 14 (TNS): In the wake of General elections to be held on 25th of July, caretaker Prime Minister Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk on Wednesday changed the Inspector General (IGs) and Chief Secretaries of all four provinces.
In a cabinet meeting on Wednesday chaired by caretaker PM the posting and transfer of Chief Secretaries (CS) and Inspectors General (IG) of all the four provinces were made to ensure impartial and transparent elections.
According to the decisions taken in the meeting Akbar Hussain Durrani, Azam Salman Khan, Akhtar Nazir, and Naveed Kamran have been appointed as chief secretaries of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa respectively.
On the other hand, Kaleem Imam was appointed Punjab Inspectors General of Police (IGP), Amjad Javed Saleemi Sindh Inspectors General of Police (IGP), Muhammad Tahir KP Inspectors General of Police (IGP), and Mohsin Hassan Butt Balochistan Inspectors General of Police (IGP).
Apart from IGP’s of all the four provinces of the country IG Islamabad has also been changed. According to the separate notifications issued by Wednesday Lt (R) Jan Muhammad, BS-20 officer of Police Service of Pakistan, presently serving in National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has also been made to replace Sultan Azam Taimuri as Inspector General, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police.
All the transferred IGP’s of provinces and ICT including Arif Nawaz Khan, AD Khwaja, Salah ud Din Khan, Moazzam Jah Ansari and Sultan Azam Taimuri have been asked to report to Establishment Division.

These appointments were made after consultations with the Election Commission of Pakistan and the provincial governments.
