ISLAMABAD, June 19 (TNS): In a major development, the returning officer on Tuesday rejected PTI chief Imran Khan’s candidacy for NA-53 constituency of Islamabad.
The nomination papers have been rejected over violation of Section N of the affidavit. According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, Imran did not fill the affidavit as per its requirements.
The RO also dismissed the objections raised against Imran’s candidacy.
Nomination papers of former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Sardar mehtab and Aysha Gulalai have also been rejected by the returning officer.
