Islamabad, June 21 (TNS): Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad faces a ban of three months from international cricket after he was tested positive in a dope test taken during a recent domestic cricket tournament.
Shehzad’s violation of the anti-doping laws can land him into hot waters but the opener still has the option of a second dope test.
The PCB officials reportedly informed the selection committee and Head Coach Mickey Arthur in a meeting in which the probable squad for Zimbabwe selection was discussed.
The World Anti-Doping Agency will now take action against Ahmed Shehzad who recently made an appearance in the national colours against Scotland in a T-20I series.
PCB spokesperson confirmed that a Pakistani player has been tested positive but did not reveal the name of the player, as the test reports have not been verified yet.
