Rs100b to be released for areas recently merged with KP: Zafar

Peshawar, July 5 (TNS): Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Ali Zafar says one hundred billion rupees will be spent on the development of those areas which were recently merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, state media reported on Thursday.

Presiding over a meeting in Peshawar, he said ten billion rupees will be released for this purpose every year.

The meeting was informed that a special package will be implemented to develop infrastructure and social sector in tribal districts.

The Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dost Muhammad Khan briefed participants of the meeting about the steps so far taken for welfare of tribal people.

He assured that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and donor agencies will also provide resources for development of tribal districts.

He said efforts will be made to provide maximum relief to tribal people who have suffered a lot due to terrorism.
