NAB files reference against education consultants

ISLAMABAD, July 18 (TNS): After complaints from Australian High Commission in Pakistan, NAB Rawalpindi on Wednesday filed a Reference against Nazar Abbas, owner of “Al-Abbas international educational consultants” and others consultants in Accountability Court Rawalpindi for the commission of offense of cheating members of the public at large.

As per details, Australian High Commission in Pakistan had referred a case to NAB Rawalpindi against Al-Abbas International, an Educational Consultancy Firm, Pakistan. According to the complaint, accused Nazar Abbas was Owner and Director of  AL-ABBAS International Educational Consultants.

He dishonestly and fraudulently induced the students on the pretext of arranging study visa of Australia and collected millions of rupees in lieu thereof. The accused had no legal authority or mandate to collect money/amount in this regard. In this way, the accused deprived the students of the hard earned money of their parents as well as played havoc with their future. The accused Nazzar Abbas entered into agreements with the complainants (students or their guardians) and also issued guarantee cheques to them with his signatures. The accused neither arranged study visa for the students nor returned their amounts and misappropriated the same. The accused has collected Rs. 14.23 million from students and dishonestly / fraudulently misappropriated the same.

DG NAB Rawalpindi Irfan Naeem Mangi said that the students are future of Pakistan, therefore, they should remain vigilant from such elements in order to avoid any loss of their precious time and resources. He emphasized that the students avoid such fake student visa agents who may be involved in illicit practices such as human trafficking endangering precious lives and causing embarrassment to Pakistan on international forums.
