Lahore, July 29 (TNS):Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Sunday suspended Dr. Uzma as Vice Chancellor of College for Women University in Lahore.

The Vice Chancellor was suspended because her appointment to the post was done without merit.
Appearing before the court, in her defence Dr.Uzma told the court that former interior Minister had no role in her appointment as VC.
During the hearing CJP said, ” The report is not in your favour, we are aware of Ahsan Iqbal’s role in your appointment”, he further directed that, a senior professor shall be appointed as new vice chancellor of the university.

The court also summoned report regarding Allama Iqbal Open University’s Dean who recommended the appointment of Dr.Uzma.
The Supreme court directed the university to appoint a new Vice Chancellor in 30 days.
