Appeal submitted in PHC for vote recounting in Khattak’s PK-61

Peshawar, August 4 (TNS): Awami National Party candidate Pervaiz Ahmed has submited an apeal in Peshawar High Court (PHC) on saturday for recounting of votes in PK-61 where former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Pervez Khattak emerged victorious.

According to the petitioner, Khattak’s number of votes are deviating from the actual figure by a margin of 20,000.

Pervaiz Ahmed, who lost from the constituency complaint that the polling agents were asked to go out of the room while the votes were counted after polling hours.

The petitioner also claimed that around 4,000 votes were rejected by the Nowshehra Returning Officer (RO), thus recounting is necessary in the said constituency.
