CJP takes notice of 12 girls’ schools burnt by miscreants in Chilas

Islamabad, August 4 (TNS):  Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday took notice of the heinious attack by miscreants on at least 12 girls’ schools in Chilas.

Justice Saqib Nisar has directed the government, secretary Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, and secretary interior to submit reports on the incident within 48 hours.

On Thursday night some miscreants set 12 girls’ schools on fire in a horrific attack in Chilas, a place 130 kilometres away from Gilgit-Baltistan, police sources said,

The suspects were unidentified men who targetted educational institutes across Diamer district.

According to reports the attackers wrecked two schools with explosives.

Following raids in Tangir and Dariyal areas  atleast 10 suspects have been apprehended in connection with the attacks, the Gilgit-Baltistan government said on Saturday.

“Locals are fully cooperating in the targeted operation” said IG General GB Sanaulah Abbasi.

Caretaker prime minister Justice (retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk strongly condemned the incident and vowed that the responsible individuals will not be spared.

He also ordered authorities to submit a report on the attack on girls’ schools in Chilas.
