Islamabad, August 7 (TNS): Islamabad High Court on Tuesday reserved the verdict on transfer of Al-Azizia and Flagship references to another court.
Khwaja Haris, the Counsel of former premier Nawaz Sharif filed a plea in which he requested the court to shift the two reference cases to another accountability court.
During the hearing the former supremo’s counsel said, “Tariq Shafi’s statement was used against Nawaz Sharif as a weapon”.
Khwaja Haris further said in the proceedings, “The verdict was given against Nawaz Sharif in Avenfield reference on the basis of the documents submitted by his sons in Supreme Court and Joint Investigation Team”.
“Nawaz Sharif has repeatedly stated that he does not own these properties” he added.
Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz was earlier sent to Jail on July 13 after they were convicted in the Avenfield reference by the supreme court.
The court has now reserved the verdict regarding the transfer of the references to another court.
