Petition filed in IHC against Imran Khan’s oath taking as Prime Minister

Islamabad,August 9 (TNS): A petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court pertaining to stop Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan from taking oath as Prime Minister of Pakistan on Thursday.

According to the petition, Imran Khan does not fulfill the standard of Article 62 and a new bench should be formed for the hearings of this case.

Earlier Justice Amir Farooq had excused from hearing the case on this petition and had referred the case to Cheif Justice of Islamabad High Court.

The petitioner had requested to form a new bench for the case and the plea also said that the hearing must go underway as soon as possible.

The Petition has been filed by Hafiz Ehtisham, who is a citizen of Islamabad.
