Islamabad, Aug. 16 (TNS): Pakistan says the fencing of long border with Afghanistan will take more than two years time.

At his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal stated the fence is being constructed with the objective to regulate movement of men and material as part of counter terrorism efforts. He said it will also be important for long term regional stability and improvement of relations between the two countries.

The spokesperson said Pakistan and Afghanistan are engaged in developing a time bound repatriation plan for the early and complete return of Afghan refugees to their homeland. In this regard, an afghan delegation will soon be visiting Islamabad for consultations.
