Quetta,August 18 (TNS): Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) Jam Kamal Khan has been elected as the new Cheif Minister of Balochistan on Friday.
Jamal Khan had been nominated as BAP and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) joint candidate for the CM slot.
Balochistan’s coalition government elected the BAP leader as their new Chief Minister through open ballet.
Younus Aziz Zehri who contested against Jam Kamal was the joint candidate of Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mehngal) and (MMA).
Jam Kamal Khan bagged 39 votes , whereas as the opposition candidate from Muttahida Majlis-e-Ammal, Younus Aziz Zehri secured 20 votes.
It should be noted here that Balochistan’s former CM from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Sanaullah Zehri also cast his vote for Jam Kamal Khan.
