Islamabad, August 18 (TNS): Prior to Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan’s oath taking, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen said on Saturday that his mission is now over and he will not be playing any further role in the matters of governance of the country.

“I had a mission and Allah made us all successful in it. After this I will have no role,” Tareen said prior to Imran Khan’s oath-taking as prime minister.

“Government has now been formed and those who have been elected will run it. I will be in the background and sit at home. Will run my businesses, farming and relax,” Tareen added.

Tareen was instrumental in gathering the support of independents for the party to form government in the Punjab and centre said he was overwhelmed that this day had come.

Following his disqualification by the Supreme Court, the PTI leader was not able to contest the 2018 general election but remained a leading figure in the party.

After holding several meetings with independent and lawmakers associated with different parties following the July 25 polls, Tareen finally managed to accomplish the number game to form governments.
