ISLAMABAD, August 28 (TNS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Sheheryar Khan Afridi has emerged as a strong candidate for minister of state for Interior and can be appointed for the post by the federal government according to sources.
The Supremo of the country Imran Khan has approved Afridi’s appointment, according to various media reports.
In this regard a notification is expected to be issued today.“The Prime Minister has directed Afridi to look over all matters pertaining to the Ministry of Interior,” sources added.
Afridi was invited to the meeting a day earlier in which PM Imran was briefed by Ministry of Interior officials, sources confirm.
In the general elections Afridi was elected as member of the National Assembly from Kohat. He also won from a seat on the ticket of PTI during the 2013 polls.
