Presidential candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till noon: ECP

Islamabad, August 30 (TNS): The candidates for presidential elections can withdraw their nomination papers today till 12 pm, according to the rules and regulations of Election Comission of Pakistan (ECP).

As for now the candidates who have filed their nomination papers for Presidential elections are Muttahida Majlis-e- Ammal (MMA) leader Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman,Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s Senator Aitzaz Ehsan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Dr. Arif Alvi who is the candidate of the ruling party.

The presidential elections will be held on September 4 through a secret ballet.

All the members of National Assembly, Senate and the four provincial assemblies can cast their votes in the presidential election which is an electoral college.

In the Presidential elections each vote of 6 members of provincial assembly is equivalent to 1 vote only.
