KARACHI, Oct. 3 (TNS): To ensure smooth flow of traffic and vacate the encroached land, the authorities in district West on Wednesday conducted an anti-encroachment drive and demolished many illegal constructions including weekly “Bachat bazaars” following the notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner- West Shadia Jaffer cancelling No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for establishment of these bazaars.
During the drive, encroachments from the roads, markets and other areas were removed.

The operations were supervised by the Assistant Commissioners concerned.
Assistant Commissioner Baldia and Orangi Sub-Divisions removed as many as four bachat bazaars in their jurisdictions.
DC-West Shadia Jaffer said no any kind of encroachments would be allowed in the district and strict legal action would be taken against people involved in such activities.
She also appealed the traders community and residents of district West to cooperate with the authorities.
