ECP establishes Control Room & Complaint Cell

Islamabad, Oct 14 (TNS): Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established a central control room at its headquarters in Islamabad for the ongoing by-elections.

According to an official of ECP, the control room will remain functional till completion of election results.

The official said a separate complaint cell has been established at ECP to receive complaints related to the by-polls.

He said a facilitation and result receiving center has also been established which will work round the clock.

The official said media has been asked to avoid releasing unofficial results before 6:00 pm today as ordered by Lahore High Court.

Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan and Secretary Election Commission visited the control room in Islamabad today and reviewed the electoral process.

The Chief election commissioner also sought information about the complaints received so far.

Registered overseas Pakistanis have right to cast vote through I-voting system: ECP

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) says all registered overseas Pakistani voters have the right to cast vote in the by-election through I-voting system.

An official of ECP said today that I-voting pass system has been generated for registered overseas Pakistanis and all eligible voters can cast their vote till 5:00 pm today.

He said a control room has also been established for assistance of overseas Pakistani voters.

He said all those overseas Pakistanis who did not receive their voting passport may contact to the control room to submit any complaint with telephone number 0092512778899.
