Karachi, Oct 17 (TNS): Confidence of the consumer is always proportionate to safety and reliability of a product and this confidence can only be achieved through standardization said Mr. Abdul Aleem Memon Director General, PSQCA In the Seminar of World Standards Day 2018 on topic “International Standards and the Fourth Industrial Revolution” which was held at PSQCA Head office-Karachi organized by Pakistan Standards & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) The objective of the seminar was to promote quality standards culture in Pakistan. Mr. Abdul Aleem Memon Director General, PSQCA was the Chief Guest in the Seminar on the occasion of 49th World Standards Day. He appreciated the efforts of National Standards Committees and welcomed chairmen of NSCs, who were present in the seminar and were specially invited to honor the day. In his speech he acknowledged the fact that industrialization, standardization and economic growth grow together as without Standardization optimum growth cannot be achieved. I am pleased to learn that NSC is already addressing this issue and have developed Pakistan Standards. Moreover, International Standards especially with regards to Pakistan is one single important factor that could direct/channelize the entire outlook of business.

He thanked to the NSC and welcomed all the guests for their presence and active participation to make this seminar success. He further said that the changing face of international trade has led to single, globally acceptable technical standards for globally marketable products. At the international level, standards are becoming a pillar of the new global trade system. He said that I urge Pakistani companies to remain vigilant about the latest development of international standards and get involved in standards committees of PSQCA. I am very much hopeful that Standardization with the collaborative efforts of the public and private sectors have maintained its dedication by bringing positive changes to this activity every year. He congratulates the efforts of the SDC-NSC Chairmen regarding their active participation in committee meetings and hard work to make National Standards.

After the seminar distribution of certificates was done by Mr. Abdul Aleem Memon Director General, PSQCA among the Chairmen of NSC.

The seminar session was attended by large number of chairmen of National Standards Committees. On the occasion Mr. Naveed Ansari, Chairmen of NSC-Electronics, Mr. Gulzar Memon of NSC-Agriculture & Food, Mr. Jamal Naqvi of NSC-Mechanical and Mr. Khalid Ahmad Bablani, Director Standards Development Centre (SDC) also spoke on the importance of World Standards Day.
