KARACHI, Nov 26 (TNS): The target killer of two cops and 7 other
citizens was arrested by police from the limits of Bahadurabad on
Monday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Ghulam Azfar Mahesar
told APP that accused Ashiq Elahi alias Danish Elahi who was nominated
as proclaimed offender in cases of target killing of Deputy
Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nawaz Ranjha and Inspector
Nasir-ul-Hassan besides he also killed 7 citizens.
The accused was arrested by Station House Officer (SHO) Bahadurabad
Police Station Shahid Chaudhry after an encounter.
SSP said that the arrested accused belonged to a militant wing of a
political party.
In another encounter, SHO Bahadurabad Shahid Chaudhry arrested a
street criminal Aqeel alias Silencer from Nabi Baksh area. An
accomplice of accused Abdullah 60 years was killed in an encounter
with police few days back.
Accused Aqeel was arrested with the help of CCTV footages, SSP
further said.
The police team also recovered arms from his possession.

DSP Nawaz Ranjha was gunned down by the arrested target killer on
August 17, 2010 at M.A Jinnah Road during routine patrolling while SHO
Brigade Police Station Inspector Nasir-ul-Hassan was killed on July 7, 2010 in Lines Area.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) East Amir Farooqi and
SSP East Ghulam Azfar Mahesar announced commendation certificates and
cash reward for SHO Bahadurabad and his team.
