SC upheld sentence awarded to convict in Khadija Murder attempt case

Islamabad, Jan. 23 (TNS): The Supreme Court has upheld the sentence of five years imprisonment awarded to the convict in Khadija Murder attempt case, by the District and Sessions Judge Lahore.

A three judge bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa took up the appeal by applicant Khadija Siddiqui against the decision of Lahore High Court in Islamabad on Wednesday.

It may be recalled that the Lahore High Court had acquitted accused Shah Hussain after being sentenced by the district and sessions judge.

The apex Court annulled the decision of Lahore High Court.

Convict Shah Husain was arrested by the police from the court presmises on the orders of the apex Court.
