In connection with ongoing anti-encroachment drive, operations are being conducted all over the city

Islamabad, May 22 (TNS): In order to ensure desired results, all departments are collaborating with each other and encroachments established on the right of ways of different roads, encroachments on green belts, illegal possession on state land, violations of building bye-laws and other unauthorized constructions are being targeted.

In this connection, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Capital Administration ICT and National Highways Authority during a combined operation conducted along the Murree Road in Bahrakhu area demolished several constructions and encroachments. These encroachments were not only affecting traffic flow but also disturb the pedestrian movement in the vicinity. Moreover, tourists, commuters using Muree Road to approach Muree Hill station have to face difficulties due to these encroachments and were the main cause of traffic jam in the area.

Similarly, action against encroachments established by the buildings / institutions on the right of way or beyond the plot line along the major avenues of the city is also being carried out vigorously. In this connection, encroachments barriers, guard rooms, entry gate, iron grills, electric generators and other encroachments established by the different offices, institutes and buildings starting from Marri Gas office G-10 Mauve Area to G-9 Mauve Area were removed. Furthermore, car parking’s established by these offices in the green belts were also dismantled. These encroachments were removed from the surroundings of Tele House, NADRA office, MPCL Building, Qadeer Khan building, National Police Foundation building, NHA building and Pakistan Medical Dental Center.

During another action taken alongside the Jinnah Avenue and encroachments established from the surroundings of Evacuee Trust Building, UBL Tower, Auqaf Building and OGDCL building were removed.
In addition to carrying out anti-encroachment operations, strict vigilance particularly in the areas where already anti-encroachments operations have been conducted is also being ensured so that encroachments could not be cropped up again. In this connection, during vigilance it was observed that a wall and a room were being illegally constructed in Malpur Area where already operations were conducted. Enforcement Directorate took prompt action and demolished illegally under-construction wall and one (01) room was demolished.
