18 students given scholarship cheques worth eight lakh, 25 thousands ; cm says punjab government to give rs2.5 crore scholarships to 879 minority students
Lahore, May 25 (TNS): Students from minorities called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at CM Office today. The Chief Minister gave cheques for scholarships to girl and boy students from minorities. Scholarship cheques worth eight lakh and 25 thousands rupees were given to 18 boy and girl students from minorities. Speaking on the occasion, CM Usman Buzdar said the Punjab government will give scholarships worth 2.5 crore rupees to 879 students from minorities. New Pakistan represents new hopes and desires, and competent students of Pakistan will play vital role in the change. PTI will encourage students at every level.

He said minorities enjoy equal rights in Pakistan and they have equal opportunities of progress. Minority students are being given equal opportunities to move forward. Competent and intelligent students guarantee the bright future of Pakistan. Students should utilize their best talent for the progress of the country. The nation has high hopes from them. He said Pakistan will make progress under the leadership of PM Imran Khan. Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Ijaz Alam said giving scholarships to minority students is praiseworthy measure of the PTI government. Minority students have made huge achievements.

He said the PTI government will provide every possible support to the minority students. Minority students from Lahore including Tabreez Qamar, Ambroze Anthony Gull, Naseer Kawash, Ashar Akram, Asad Abid, Abheesha Shahzeb John, Symon Nabeel and girl students including Sherel Asif, Maha Maqsood, Mashal Riaz, Aneela George, Zeerash Sarfraz, Fazeela Sardar, Astar Nazeer, Saima Nazeer, resident of Sheikhupura Samran Iqbal, Irsalan Liaquat and resident of Nankana Sahib Gorgeet Singh were given scholarship cheques. Punjab Human Rights and Minority Minister Ijaz Alam, Punjab Auqaf Minister Syed Saaedul Hassan Shah, secretary human rights and minority affairs, and concerning officials were present on the occasion.
