Islamabad, July 04 (TNS): Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shehryar Afridi says evidence against PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah for carrying narcotics in his vehicle is intact and will be presented in the court of law.
Addressing a news conference along with the DG Anti-Narcotics Force in Islamabad Thursday, he said vehicle of Rana Sanaullah had been monitored for three weeks, and footages are available to prove the case.
The Minister of State said 15 kilogram heroin worth 150 million rupees in the international market was being carried to Lahore by Rana Sanaullah. He said smuggling of the narcotics abroad would have harmed the image of the country.
Shehryar Afridi said the PTI government has zero tolerance against criminals and law will come into force against everyone, irrespective of his position or status.
Speaking on the occasion, the DG ANF said the force will prove the case against Rana Sanaullah on the basis of evidence.
He said the conviction rate of ANF case is 95 per cent.
The DG ANF said the force did not seek physical remand of Rana Sanaullah as it has sufficient evidence against him.
He said Anti-Narcotics operation is being carried out across-the-board and we have to net big fish to purge the country of this menace.
