Govt committed to protect basic rights of transgender community: Dr. Zafar

Islamabad, Dec 31 (TNS): Special Assistant on Health Regulations Dr. Zafar Mirza says the government is committed to protect the basic rights of the transgender community.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said every transgender registered with NADRA, will be provided with Sehat Insaf Card.

He said the government has ensured the health insurance coverage to 6.8 million families, and 84 districts have been included in this program.

He said, by the end of next year, the facility of Sehat Insaf Card will be extended to fifteen hundred thousand families which are below the poverty line.
