Islamabad: Aug 21, 2020 (TNS): Economic Coordination Committee has allowed Pakistan Trading Corporation to initially issue an order for import of two hundred thousand tonnes of wheat.
The decision was taken at ECC meeting in Islamabad today (Friday) with Advisor on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the chair.
It was also decided in the meeting to reduce the tariff rate on sugar imported by the private sector.
The ECC was informed that the private sector had started importing five hundred thousand tons of wheat and the first ship will reach Pakistan on 26th of this month, which will stabilize wheat prices in the country.
