‘Arrest of Zafar Hijazi signals danger’

ISLAMABAD, July 22 (TNS): A German media outlet says the arrest of Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) former Chairman Zafar Hijazi has sent emphatic signals of danger to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Rumors are circulating in the federal capital Islamabad that Hijazi allegedly tampered records on directives of Ishaq Dar, as earlier was considered a close aide of later, it said, adding that several problems would erupt for Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) if Hijazi unearths name of the person on whose directives alteration occurred,” read the German outlet.

Joint investigation team for Panama case had found former SECP Chairman guilty of tampering the records of companies owned by the Sharif family. Supreme Court had ordered FIA to launch probe against him in which he was charged.
