Govt working on restoration of Karachi Circular Railway: Minister

Islamabad: Nov 07, 2020 (TNS): Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed says the government is working on restoration of Karachi Circular Railway to resolve the issue of travelling in the mega city.

Talking to media in Karachi on Saturday, he said we want to remove all encroachments on the track of KCR in minimum time.

The Minister said the government also desires to lay railway track from Peshawar to Jalalabad to improve connectivity between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Sheikh Rasheed said there is a plan to handover some passenger trains to private sector.

He said the democratic process in the country will continue to strengthen and incumbent government will complete its constitutional term.
