Islamabad: June 15, 2021 (TNS): Capital development authority management, in order to solve water related issues of the capital and preserve rain water has decided to make it mandatory for all the public sector buildings in islamabad to have under ground water wells for harvesting of rain water.

This is first of its kind initiative in Pakistan.

CDA management has been actively pursuing plans and policies to resolve water related issues of islamabd and has taken various steps including building of STPs and using the treated water for horticulture activities. Further more modern sprinkling irrigation system will be utilised to water plants at Srinagar and Islamabad highways to conserve water.

CDA has recently signed MoU with PCRWR to repair two water dams in rural areas of Islamabad to shore up water supply chain.
Similarly it is pertinent to menetion here that water supply has been restored from simly Dam after a long while. Similarly it is also significant to share that due to improved storage capacity of simly dam, release of water has been increased by 2 MGD from existing 20 MGD. Gradually as storage improves water supply will be increased.
