Sports journalism is the best and most difficult journalism in the world. I am proud that my passion for sports brought me into sports journalism as a sports reporter. Meanwhile in the court of Mr. Muhammad Nadeem Opel Senior Civil Judge Islamabad a defamation suit for recovery of damages , the case was withdrawn after a written apology by the English captain Mike Atherton to the entire journalist community. Last year a video of fast Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi’s went viral globally with the racism remarks. The matter was resolved with direction next time to be careful. Abdul Mohi Shah, the chairman of RISJA, played a key role in this matter so that the career of Pakistan’s fast bowler would not be affected. This year, after the risks of Corona virus were reduced, World Sports Journalists’ Day was celebrated all over Pakistan and many congratulatory messages from around the world cheered.

We all enjoyed playing some sports in our childhood. Some put it as a profession at a later period of time. But the ones who integrate both sports and journalism as their profession are called sports journalists. The World Sports Journalist Day was observed to celebrate the foundation of AIPS and professionals use sports as a medium for world peace. So, every year July 2nd is dedicated to all the sports journalists across the world.
The term sports journalist signifies covering and writing news related to sports and its events. It marks the anniversary of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), established in 1924. Its headquarters is based in Switzerland. Every year, Sports Journalists Day is held on July 2nd across the world. In 1994, AIPS introduced World Sports Journalists Day in order to celebrate the anniversary of its establishment.
Sports journalism started in the early 1800s as an important part of the elite class and transitioned to the news business with a dedicated sports column. Later it also gained popularity in the middle and lower classes, which led to more content coverage in publications. The different forms of sports journalism include play-by-play, game recap analysis, and investigative journalism on important developments in the field of sport.

Sports are an integral part of human life that builds the character and personality of a person. Sports bring happiness to a lot of people and sportswriters bring sports to those people. Life for many of us is so dull without sports and that’s why we must thank the sports journalists around the world for the good job they are doing. It aims to acknowledge and encourage sports journalists to do better work. Mark your calendars and devote a day to honour and respecting all the sportswriters that bring the world of sports closer to us. The real heroes of this globe are the sportswriters. Respect and honor them on this occasion of World Sports Journalists Day. True art lies in bringing people closer to what they love, like sportswriters. The success of our beloved sportspersons is uplifted by our support and love, which we can only share through our beloved journalists. Inspire sports journalists by giving them support to continue their impeccable work. Respect their art and celebrate this occasion of World Sports Journalists Day. Stand up on this World Sports Journalists Day and encourage sports journalists to strive for excellence in their work and to set an example to the world.
