Baba Guru Nanak’s anniversary celebrations start in Nankana Sahib

Islamabad: Nov 19, 2021 (TNS): The celebrations of the 552nd birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak have started in Nankana Sahib.

Thousands of Sikh pilgrims from India and other countries are participating in the celebrations.

The main ceremony of the celebration will be held at Gurdwara Janamasthan in Nankana Sahib today.

Various departments have already completed necessary arrangements, including security, accommodation, food, healthcare and transport, to facilitate the Sikh pilgrims.

Meanwhile, Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri says Pakistan is safe for minorities and Sikhs are enjoying complete freedom to live according to their faith in Pakistan.

Addressing the ceremony in connection with 552nd birthday celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak today, he said that birthday of Baba Guru Nanak is a festival of joy and religious fervour.

He said that Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the best example of religious tolerance and interfaith harmony.

He said that all step are being taken by the government to provide maximum facilities to Sikh pilgrims.

Earlier, addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for Narcotics Brigadier Retired Ijaz Shah said that Kartarpur Corridor is a great gift from PTI Government for Sikh community paving the way for peace and friendship in region.
