KARACHI (TNS) The Young Doctors Association (YDA Sindh) has strongly urged the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to immediately slash the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) fee from the current Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 5,000 or less, terming the present amount an unjust financial burden on students and their families.

The (YDA Sindh) Chairman also voiced serious concern over the MDCAT syllabus policy. Despite PMDC’s announcement of a centralized question bank based on a so-called “uniform syllabus,” students are still instructed to prepare according to their respective provincial textbooks. Every year, questions are included from the textbooks of other provinces, putting thousands of candidates at a severe disadvantage and leading to academic injustice.

(YDA Sindh) demanded that MDCAT questions should be strictly derived from each province’s own syllabus to ensure a truly level playing field for all students. The association emphasized that only such measures can guarantee educational fairness across the country.
