Islamabad (TNS) Fateh Jang Tehsildar Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood on Defence Day termed September 6 a “golden chapter” in the country’s history, recalling how the Pakistani nation and its armed forces thwarted the enemy’s designs with steadfast resolve.
He said the martyrs and ghazis of the 1965 war were the real heroes who proved with their ultimate sacrifices that the defence of Pakistan is impregnable. “The entire nation today pays glowing tribute to those sons of the soil who laid down their lives for the motherland,” he remarked.
Mr Mehmood stressed that Pakistan’s armed forces and the people remained united. “The enemy must remember that we are ready to defend every inch of our homeland. Pakistan desires peace but any aggression will be met with full force,” he warned.
Referring to recent Pakistan-India hostilities, the tehsildar said:
> “The way our brave forces crushed the enemy’s ambitions on all fronts is living proof that Pakistan’s military is unconquerable. The credit for this remarkable success goes to Field Marshal General Asim Munir, whose bold leadership and unwavering resolve infused the nation with fresh courage. The entire country pays tribute to him.”
