Durable peace in region linked with resolving Kashmir dispute: says Asif

Islamabad, August 7 (TNS): Focusing importance of Kashmir cause, Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Monday linked durable peace in South Asia with resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute.

The newly appointed minister was talking to Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan in here.

The duo discussed situation in occupied valley, particularly about martyrdom of youth Kashmiris in fake encounters and arrest of Hurriyat leaders during the meeting.

The foreign minister said Pakistan wants cordial and peaceful relations with India nut Kashmir cause can not be ignored.

Khawaja Asif said Pakistan has the capability to defend its boundaries and urged Indian government to respond positively to the efforts of Pakistan to bring peace to the region.

Masood Khan, on occasion, said that India wants to change demography in occupied J&K by issuing certificates to non-state subjects.

Both leaders appealed international community to take notice of the Indian atrocities and brutalities and gross human rights violations in the occupied valley.
