ISLAMABAD (Staff Reporter): In a swift and decisive move, Khanewal police arrested a suspect within 12 hours of snatching a woman’s purse and mobile phone, recovering the stolen items during a quick operation led by DSP (Sadar) Khalid Javed Joiya. District Police Officer (DPO) Ismail Kharrak lauded the team’s performance and announced a cash reward.

According to police, the incident occurred when Atif Mughal was traveling with his sister on a motorcycle to District Headquarters Hospital. On Jahaniyan Road, a motorcyclist snatched the woman’s purse and mobile phone, leaving her seriously injured.

Responding swiftly to the report, police under DSP Joiya’s direct command, including SHO City Rashid Nadeem Jutt and Constable Sajid Kamboh, reviewed footage from 57 CCTV cameras along the route. The suspect was identified and later arrested from Bilal Town with the help of local residents. The accused, identified as Rashid, confessed to the crime during interrogation and handed over the stolen belongings.

The prompt action not only ensured the suspect’s arrest but also restored the stolen items to the victim. DPO Kharrak praised the police team for their dedication and efficiency, announcing certificates of appreciation and cash rewards for SHO Jutt and Constable Kamboh.
