ISLAMABAD (TNS) Former national team captain Babar Azam has created history in T20 Internationals, the right-handed batsman has broken the record of former Indian captain Rohit Sharma and become the highest run-scoring batsman. In the second T20 International against South Africa, Babar Azam achieved this record by scoring 11 runs. The former captain set this record by scoring the highest number of 4,234 runs in T20 International cricket, he achieved this honor in just 123 matches. Babar Azam also scored 3 centuries and 36 fifties in his T20 cricket, while his strike rate during this period was 128.77. Previously, the record for scoring the most runs in the shortest format was held by Rohit Sharma, who set this record by scoring 4,231 runs in 159 matches. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is in third place with 4,188 runs in 117 innings of T20 cricket, former English captain Jo Buttler is in fourth place with 3,869 runs in 132 innings, while Ireland’s Paul Stirling is in fifth place with 3,710 runs.
