Islamabad (TNS) Organized by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) in collaboration with Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), provincial tourism departments and public and private sector partners, the Pakistan Tourism Sports and Family Festival 2026 concluded with great success and enthusiasm at Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad. The second day of the festival witnessed colorful sports activities and a large participation of the public. The highlight of the day’s activities included a fun marathon and a four-kilometer cycling event. A large number of enthusiastic participants from all walks of life participated in these competitions and enjoyed themselves to the fullest. The winners of both the competitions were given cash prizes of Rs 10,000, which aimed to promote healthy lifestyle and community involvement through sports.
The day-long festival featured tourist stalls, live cooking, family and children’s activities, food stalls, cultural exhibitions, provincial tourism pavilions, live cultural performances, painting competition, army band performance, wall rock climbing, adventure base camp, street curling, paragliding, hot air ballooning and vintage car show, which attracted a large number of people. In the evening, the audience enjoyed wonderful cultural and musical performances from different regions of Pakistan.
The festival concluded with a grand musical concert and a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the sky and brought this memorable festival to a beautiful end. A large crowd was present to witness the closing moments, reflecting the wide public popularity of the event. Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, while attending the closing ceremony, appreciated the efforts of Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan and the PTDC team and said that this is the first time that such a large-scale tourism and family sports event of its kind has been organized in Islamabad.
He said that the festival was organized on the instructions of the Prime Minister and it reflects the strong commitment of the government to promote tourism and family entertainment activities. On this occasion, Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Tourism Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, while commenting on the successful conclusion of the festival, said that the Pakistan Tourism, Sports and Family Festival 2026 highlighted Pakistan as a family-friendly, vibrant and welcoming tourism destination in which public participation and cultural diversity were prominent.
Secretary Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani said that the successful completion of this mega event is the result of effective inter-ministerial coordination and joint efforts of all stakeholders, which played a significant role in promoting the country’s tourism and social harmony. Managing Director PTDC Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana expressed satisfaction over the results of the festival and said that PTDC is proud to host and coordinate this first and historic event of its kind in Islamabad. He thanked the public for the enthusiastic participation and excellent response and said that the large number of people participating is a clear evidence of the growing interest in tourism-based recreational activities. Pakistan Tourism, Sports and Family Festival 2026 concluded successfully after two days of celebrations and highlighted the positive message of unity, cultural harmony, promotion of sports and tourism.
