Govt’s top priority is to facilitate business community: says Dar

Islamabad, August 8 (TNS): Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister, on Tuesday said that government’s top priority is to assisting and facilitate the business community in the country.

He was addressing a Sales Tax Refund Payment ceremony in Islamabad.

Ishaq Dar emphasized the need for giving respect to the business community in order to mobilize them for the sake of increasing revenue and ensuring development.

He said that tax collection has increased today as a result of prudent policies of the government.

The minister said that said economic growth in the country is 5.3 percent while target of  tax to GDP is 15 percent.  He said that economy of the country is moving towards positive trajectory due to effective strategy of the government.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has taken notice of media reports about hike in sugar prices. He has directed the authorities concerned to contact with provincial governments over the matter.

He said stability in sugar prices will be ensured.
