GT-Road rally: Nawaz Sharif to stay night in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, August 9 (TNS): Nawaz Sharif, ousted from the prime minister office by the top court, will stay night in Rawalpindi changing plan to leave for Jhelum amidst PML-N’s GT-Road rally.

Sources in the PML-N claim that Nawaz Sharif will not leave for Jhelum and likely t0 stay at Punjab House or at the residence of Senator Chaudhary Tanvir.

Earlier, according to PML-N plan, former Prime Minister was scheduled to reach Jhelum till Wednesday night however slow speed of his convoy attended by tens of thousands supporters now Nawaz Sharif will stay night in twin cities.

Nawaz Sharif,, earlier on Wednesday morning, left the Punjab House in Islamabad, kicking off a long road-trip back to his hometown, Lahore, via the Grand Trunk (GT) Road.

Progress had been slow, however, and his convoy was held up at Committee Chowk in Rawalpindi.

During the rally, various PML-N leaders were seen greeting their supporters and addressing them.
