Islamabad (TNS) DIG and SSP Operations Islamabad Direct Enhanced Policing, Public Facilitation and Targeted Action Against CriminalsIslamabad: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Ali Wasim visited Shahzad Town Police Station, where he inspected the front desk, record room, lock-up, mosque, mess, and other sections, along with the facilities being provided to citizens. He also met with complainants, listened to their concerns, and directed the concerned officers to ensure timely and effective redressal of public complaints.DIG Islamabad directed officers to conclude under-investigation cases on merit without unnecessary delay, maintain police station records properly, and take effective action against proclaimed, wanted, and previously record-holding offenders. He also called for intensified targeted operations against active criminal gangs and emphasized ensuring transparency, impartiality, and merit in investigations, along with courteous and responsible treatment of citizens.Later, DIG Islamabad Ali Wasim held an Open Court (Khuli Kachehri) at his office, where citizens presented their complaints and concerns. He personally heard their applications and directed the concerned officers to take legal action within the prescribed time and ensure resolution of their issues. He said citizens could approach police officers directly without any recommendation or influence and could also contact the IGP Complaint Cell at 1715 for the resolution of their complaints.
DIG Islamabad said that protection of citizens’ lives, property, and dignity, zero tolerance against crimes involving women and children, effective policing, and merit-based action on every complaint and case remain among the Islamabad Police’s key priorities. He directed officers to strengthen communication between police and the public and take practical measures to further enhance citizens’ confidence in the police.Meanwhile, a meeting of officers from Industrial Area and Sohan Zones was held under the chairmanship of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza. The meeting reviewed the law-and-order situation, crime trends, and policing measures in both zones. SP Industrial Area Dr. Ayaz Hussain, SP Sohan Zone Hasnain Waris, SDPOs, and SHOs attended the meeting.SSP Operations directed officers to intensify effective and targeted operations against criminal elements, arrest proclaimed, wanted, and previously record-holding offenders, strengthen patrolling, and utilize all available resources to ensure timely justice for citizens. He emphasized that negligence or laxity in preventing crime, protecting citizens’ lives and property, and maintaining law and order would not be tolerated.
