Shabbir Shah sent to Tihar Jail on 14-day judicial remand

ISLAMABAD, Aug 10 (TNS):  A New Delhi court has sent the illegally detained APHC General Secretary and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmed Shah to Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail on 14-day judicial remand.

Shabbir Ahmed Shah was arrested last month by India’s Enforcement Directorate in false case registered against him a decade ago.

He was produced before Additional Sessions Judge, Sidharth Sharma, who sent him to Tihar Jail on judicial remand.

Meanwhile, a DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of Shabbir Ahmed Shah and his deteriorating health condition.

He said that Indian authorities were trying to implicate the resistance leader in a case in which he was acquitted by a court ten years ago. Indian authorities will not get anything by resorting to such tactics, “he said.
