Islamabad, August 10 (TNS): Amid uproar over the harassment issue, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq demanded the major opposition parties to nominate their members for the special committee constituted to probe into Ayesha Gulalai’s allegations against Imran Khan.

According to a press release issued by the NA Secretariat on Thursday, ruling party PML-N has already nominated six members for the committee but PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami have refused to nominate their members.

According to the statement, Ayaz Sadiq requested the opposition parties to nominate at least four members of the House from its benches so that the committee may be notified in the pursuance of motion adopted by the National Assembly.

On the proposal of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the House on August 4 adopted a motion for formation of a special committee to investigate Gulalai’s allegations within a month’s time.

Gulalai abandoned PTI on August 1 leveling s accusation on party chief Imran Khan and his peers for harassing party’s women workers, including herself by sending them vulgar text messages.
