After masses demand govt announce state funeral for nation’s Messiah Dr. Pfau

Islamabad, August 10 (TNS): Pakistan government on Thursday announced a state funeral for the messiah of Pakistani lepers Dr. Ruth Pfau who passed away at a Karachi hospital on Thursday.

After immense request from the masses to give esteemed farewell to the magic-healer of the nation, the Prime Minister announced a state funeral for Dr. Pfau.

Funeral mass will be held on Sunday August 19 at Karachi’s St. Patrick Cathedral and thereafter will be laid to rest at Christian cemetery (Gora Qabristan) of Karachi.

Masses on social media have demanded the government to give a state funeral to the great lady who dedicated her whole life to serve Pakistanis.

Prime Minster said that the whole nation is indebted to Dr. Ruth Pfau for her selfless and unmatched services for eradication of leprosy.

He added that she gave new hope to innumerable people and proved through her illustrious toil that serving humanity knows no boundaries.

Dr Ruth Pfau passed away early Thursday morning after a long illness at the age of 87.

She was born in Germany, came to Pakistan in the 1960s and dedicated her life to caring for patients suffering from leprosy.
